The brake problems persisted in race 2 and again Mike Saunders was unable to take any points as the brakes jammed on and he was forced to retire. This left class A driver Dean Cook to chase down the invitation driver Mark Hales and he so nearly made with what he called a last chance lunge on the final corner. He was unable to make it stick though and Mark went on to take the overall win. It goes to show that the racing is the important thing as Deano could have just sat back and taken championship points knowing that Mark drive didn’t count in the championship.
In Class B Tim Davis reversed the race 1 result staying ahead of a hard chasing Andy Race with Dave Chant keeping al nice consistent 3 in both races to ensure the battle for the championship remains very open with 5 or 6 drivers still in the hunt.
